Ever wondered what it would look like to defrag a Commodore 64 disk? Now you can with the visual defragmenter by Michael Steil called Defrag 1541.

Admittedly this is not a practical tool to defrag a floppy disk. Defrag1541 is designed to that you can watch the defragging process. According to the the author, “The algorithm for the desired allocation was chosen for its looks, not to make disks actually faster.”

The entire program is only 49 lines of BASIC and is 9 blocks large. Defrag1541 is free to download at the following URL’s.
