COVER FEATURE: TRAIN ROBBERS
We celebrate Firebird Software’s fabulous budget title Train Robbers, which was good enough to score an impressive 90% from ZZAP!64 magazine.

ANDREW BRAYBROOK: LOOKING BACK…
For me, Uridium is THE greatest arcade shoot-em-up on the Commodore 64, and seeing that we have its programmer on the FREEZE64 team, it was inevitable that he would eventually share the story of its development.

JULIAN RIGNALL’S CCRAPBACK: DECEMBER 1985
Our Julian looks back at ZZAP!64 magazine from December 1985 when, unfortunately, it wasn’t just quality games that were released for the C64; there were also a few turd-wrenching titles that slipped through the net. This time around he’s revisiting Spy’s DemiseZytoBlackwyche, and Codename Matt II.

SECRET SQUIRREL INVESTIGATES
He’s a sneaky, little bugger, isn’t he? Poking his nose into everything and doing his best to suss everyone out. Fortunately, this time he’s come up trumps with FungusGood Kniight, and our cover feature game, Train Robbers.

THE DEVELOPERS’ DEN: ANDREW HOLDROYD
We chat with Firebird Software’s Andrew Holdroyd, who shares the development story to his delightful budget title and our cover feature game Train Robbers, which he produced way back in 1987. A great development story that I know you’re all going to enjoy reading.

IN DEVELOPMENT: IMPOSSIBLE MISSION 3
Thirty-six years later, the Commodore 64 game-making factory, ICON64, took up the challenge of creating a third game in the Impossible Mission franchise. Can they improve upon the success of the original? Let’s find out by hearing from one of their programmers, Stuart Collier.

OUT OF THE ‘MOULDY CUPBOARD’: JUNGLE TROUBLE
Once again, we venture into the notorious Mouldy Cupboard to unearth another unlikely C64 title. This time, it’s Jungle Trouble — an early release for the Commodore 64, programmed by Alastair Trickett and published by Durell Software. Is the game worthy of our attention? Let’s find out!

DIARY OF A GAME – INBREAD BY KARL HÖRNELL
Karl Hörnell shares another installment of his Inbread development diary. We pick up where we left off in the previous installment, with Karl tweaking and fine-tuning the background graphics to seamlessly complement the foreground sprites. There’s no rest for the wicked!
