New Amiga 1000 Revival

634

This last installment wraps up the GBA1000 build by GadgetUK with flair and practical ingenuity. New Amiga 1000 Revival opens above, featuring heartfelt thanks to Conrad Larsen for the essential PCB— the part without which this build would not exist.

Within the build, GadgetUK overcomes persistent hiccups. Cables get trimmed, components get secured, and the floppy drive LED finally glows correctly. Every wire finds its place. The power switch project yields a tight, secure fit, and an N‑channel MOSFET resolves the brightness woes. Testing confirms the system boots cleanly, floppy access works, and the battery retains the clock with impressive longevity.

As the lid snaps into place, that New Amiga 1000 Revival moment lands: the whole system powers on, solid and humming along just under 52 MHz (51.8 MHz). That steady clock performance replaces previous jitter between speeds and confirms all prior tweaks paid off.

Throughout, GadgetUK stays hands‑on, iterative, and refreshingly unscripted. Tensions ease, parts align, and small technical obstacles give way to a robust, thoughtfully patched system. The final shots show a clean build and a working indicator light, underlined by a flurry of satisfaction.
