Vector5 Games has dropped Zookeeper 3 for the Commodore 64, arriving just weeks after the first title. No word on where Zookeeper 2 went—maybe it’s hiding in the enclosure?
The game sticks to a simple but effective formula: match identical animal squares to collect them and clear each level. Think color-matching, but with critters. After finishing a stage, players are given a level code to continue later. There are 30 levels total, and progress is entirely skill-based—no fluff.
One welcome touch: mouse support is included. It runs on real hardware, TheC64, and VICE. It works in both PAL and NTSC, though NTSC users might notice a few rough edges, as it hasn’t been tuned for that timing.
Zookeeper 3 is available under a “Name Your Own Price” deal. It’s free to download, but the devs suggest tossing in a dollar if you enjoy the game—fair play for keeping it accessible and encouraging support at the same time.
