Frank Eggen has released version 2.1 of his 8x Multi-Floppy-Speeder with a 32 KB RAM extension for the Commodore 1541. This new version allows for switchless operation of the speeder using DOS commands directly from the computer. Frank has tested it with several DOS versions, including CBMDOS 2.6, DolphinDos 2.0, SpeedDos+40T, JiffyDos, S-JiffyDOS 1, RapiDos Classic, and SpeedDos Expert.
Frank reports he installed the speeder on several 1541 II drives today, and it will soon be available as a community project on PCBWay. For more information, visit Frank’s GitHub page.
