Zener’s latest Amiga game, Absolute Zero, throws players into a world encased in ice, where survival depends on strategy and quick thinking. Taking on the role of Corben, an explorer on a high-stakes mission, players must restore balance by activating climate reactors hidden across perilous levels. The key to success? Collecting batteries while navigating icy landscapes filled with obstacles and relentless creatures.

Navigating the Frostbitten Terrain

Each level presents a puzzle of its own, requiring players to find or create a path through ice and enemies to reach the necessary battery packs. Corben can manipulate ice blocks by placing or destroying them above, in front, or below himself. These blocks become essential stepping stones, allowing him to reach higher platforms and avoid hazards. However, monsters patrol the frozen corridors, and direct encounters are deadly. While some enemies can be eliminated with energy bullets, not all can be taken down, forcing players to rely on evasion and careful planning.

Some levels limit visibility, adding another layer of challenge. Players must rely on environmental audio cues to detect enemy movement, a feature that enhances the tension and immersion of the game.

Mastering the Controls

  • Create/Destroy Ice Blocks: Down (at feet), Fire (in front)

  • Return to Menu: Help key or Start button on a CD32 pad
