In the gripping (and slightly gross) conclusion to the Amiga 3000 of Urine saga, Chris Edwards takes us through the final, painful chapter of a restoration that nearly broke him, both mentally and physically.
Yes, it’s that serious.
Part 3 of this trilogy brings closure to what may be Chris’s most notorious restoration yet: a battered Amiga 3000d from the Netherlands, seemingly soaked in regret—and something much, much worse. As Chris puts it, “Something pissed on this board and rotted it from the inside out.” And no, that’s not just colorful language. It’s horrifyingly literal.
This wasn’t your average repair job. This was a 65-hour, three-month-long descent into vintage computer hell, starting in November 2024. Every time Chris thought he could finally walk away, the board threw him back in with another cruel twist. It was the tech version of “just one more thing…” Except instead of Columbo, it was corrosion, failed traces, and the haunting stench of rodent afterlife.
But here’s where it takes a darker turn—Chris didn’t just suffer in spirit. While knee-deep in grime, he unknowingly contracted Leptospirosis, a bacterial infection from rodent urine. Over time, it sapped his energy, covered him in rashes, and left him feeling like he’d washed ashore after a pirate mutiny. He wasn’t officially diagnosed until February 2025, when antibiotics finally brought some relief.
So, if you catch him looking a little worse for wear in his future videos, now you know why.
Despite it all, Chris never gave up. Not on the board, not on the project, not even when his health was falling apart. It’s raw, it’s real, and weirdly enough—it’s pretty entertaining. Watching someone fight this hard for a piece of vintage computing history is kind of inspiring… and a little bit nuts.
Don’t miss the final chapter of the Amiga 3000 of Urine series. Watch Chris battle through filth, failure, and full-on frustration—one solder joint at a time.
