Amiga Hidden Gems with OSG: Letter M

201

OSG returns with another round of Amiga Hidden Gems, this time focusing on games that start with the letter M. From physics-based marble puzzles to Bomberman-style chaos, this batch covers a lot of ground—and drops some real surprises along the way.

Starting things off is Marblelous, a 1994 release that mixes maze-solving with reflex-heavy marble rolling. It’s got 80 levels, plenty of traps, and surprisingly sharp control. Next up, Missiles Over Xerion turns Missile Command into a sleek, pick-up-and-play shooter with modern visuals and a high replay factor.

OSG also includes the golf sim Mean 18, a rough-around-the-edges classic with a solid swing mechanic and even a course editor. Then there’s Metal Law, a side-scrolling shooter with a gritty vibe and soundtrack to match. The controls may be stiff, but the action makes up for it.

One of the most entertaining entries is Micro Mortal Tennis—think Sensible Soccer with a bloodthirsty streak. It’s chaotic, fast, and packed with silly animations that make it perfect for local multiplayer mayhem.

At number five is Mad Professor Mariarti, a puzzle-platformer where science goes sideways in all the right ways. Next up, Max Rally offers smooth top-down racing fun with tracks and vehicles that would feel right at home in a Micro Machines duel.

Then comes Monsters of Terror, a modernized Wizard of Wor clone with multiplayer support. It’s straightforward, but a riot with friends. Moonfall adds some variety with its blend of space trading and land-based exploration—a kind of Elite on foot.

Finally, the crown jewel is Master Blaster v2.2, one of the slickest Bomberman clones for the Amiga. It delivers tight controls, strategic mayhem, and addictive gameplay whether you’re playing solo or blowing up your friends.

This isn’t just a stroll down memory lane—it’s a reminder that many of these titles deserve a second chance. And OSG’s commentary makes the whole tour a blast to follow. If you’ve missed any of these Amiga Hidden Gems, now’s your chance to get reacquainted.
