Building a TF4060 card (RE-Amiga 3000 build #5)

270

Today on The 8-Bit Manshed, there is a TF4060 accelerator card, one of the many accelerator cards created by TerribleFire. This particular model is the latest in the series and has just been completed. The production firmware appears to be finalized. The creator, Steven, has been working on this card for as long as they’ve known each other, and Steven would likely admit that this has been his most challenging project to date. However, the card is now finished.

This version is an early bird release, meaning it’s a pre-production version that was sent out to Chucky and a few others. The card is part of a Realia 3000 build because SCY has proven to be quite tricky. After sending the DMAC back to Chucky for testing, it was confirmed to be working. However, instead of relying on SCY, which is unnecessary and unreliable, this build will use a CF card for booting, which is much more efficient.

Chucky returned the DMAC, and they exchanged parts. Chucky also sent all the necessary components to complete the build, including the 060 CPU. Everything is now in place to assemble the card.
