Commodore 1702 CRT Upgrade: Swapping for a Higher-Resolution Display

Adrian’s Digital Basement recently embarked on an ambitious CRT swap experiment with a Commodore 1702 monitor. The goal? To boost display resolution by integrating a high-quality CRT from a Commodore 1084. The 1702 had already been upgraded with a replacement board from AliExpress, adding PAL/NTSC compatibility and an RF tuner. While functional, it still lacked the fine dot pitch needed for crisp 80-column text display.
