Commander X16 developer TLovskog has just shown off his Communicator X16 card. Some slight modifications need to be made, but the manufacturing process at the local PCB fab was scheduled for 4/14/2023 for their first development prototype.
This iteration primarily serves as a mechanical/electrical test, including an examination of PoE and a 6502 bus access to SPI circuit functionality. Ultimately, it aims to incorporate RS 232, MIDI IN/OUT, and Ethernet 100Mbps with PoE to power the Commander X16 from PoE capable Ethernet. Male headers are designated for a logic analyzer, while female headers serve as an emulator for a development tool. These components are likely to be removed in the subsequent prototype, expected around May.
