Commodore 1541 Disk Drive: Installing JiffyDOS ROM

In this video we make an adapter, sourced from PCBWay, to install a JiffyDOS ROM in my recently repaired 1541 disk drive.
I'll also show you how to burn the EPROM and of course assemble the adapter.

The Commodore 1541 Disk Drive was notorious for being a slow solution.
Back in the day, it seemed pretty fast, especially compared to tapes.
But it can certainly be faster!

Installing JiffyDOS in a 1541 is no brainer upgrade that everyone with a 1541 drive should do,
as JiffyDOS also gives you improved DOS commands, allowing for MUCH easier interactions with you drive.

Great Video Chris!

Thanks, more on this topic soon!

BTW, these C64 / VIC20 / 1541 ROM adapters (2364-2764) are now for sale in the Retronaut Ebay Store. I offer them in 4 flavours, from the bare board, to fully assembled, with EPROM, which I will burn a ROM onto if desired. The EPROM burning is off-piste for EBay, so just contact me post purchase to arrange...Hit the link below to check it out
