Dark City Detective Project Fenris brings a long-lost Amiga story back into focus. Quantum Code Monk began writing the detective tale over 30 years ago, saving it on floppy disks that were forgotten until recently. Now, the story has returned as interactive fiction, available both in a browser and as an AmigaGuide file.

The project’s roots trace back to the early 90s. During that time, the author wrote a short detective story but never finished it. Decades later, while archiving Amiga disks, the unfinished draft resurfaced. In 2023, it became the text adventure Adventure 1. From there, it evolved again, shaped into interactive fiction with help from Claude.ai. The result blends retro storytelling with modern experimentation.

The setting is a bleak city, ruined by economic collapse. Players step into the role of Nathaniel Voss, a private investigator dismissed from the police under questionable circumstances. His life changes when journalist Victor Crane arrives, claiming to hold evidence of corporate murder and human experimentation. At first, Voss doubts him. However, when Crane is killed, the conspiracy becomes real, and the case takes a dangerous turn.

Several characters add depth to the mystery. Ethan Kerr, Voss’s loyal partner, avoids technology but provides street-smart insights. Logan Pierce, Voss’s old academy friend, works inside a corrupt system and faces a test of loyalty. Each character shapes the direction of the story, making every player choice meaningful.

Two ways exist to experience Project Fenris. One runs directly in a web browser, while the other works on an Amiga using MultiView or any AmigaGuide viewer. Both versions revive a story that could have remained hidden forever.

Dark City Detective Project Fenris is a rare mix of retro roots and modern interactive storytelling. It gives players the chance to explore a moody detective narrative that had been silent for decades.
