Decade of Ruin is a bold new 3D RPG in development for retro platforms, driven by the creative vision of Alexander Logachev. As the lead coder and designer, Logachev is building something rare: a real-time, polygon-based RPG that pushes the limits of classic hardware.
Working alongside him is Dmitry Grongy, whose art and level design give Decade of Ruin its cold, desolate atmosphere. It’s a game that feels like it was smuggled in from another timeline—harsh, deliberate, and strangely captivating. A preview version of Decade of Ruin was released in January, giving players a first glimpse into this stark digital world.
The game uses custom 6510 assembly code to handle its 3D engine, interactive environments, and exploratory gameplay. Even in its early state, the game delivers a unique blend of technical ambition and artistic style that sets it apart from most homebrew projects.
The current preview is available for download here, offering a taste of what’s to come. It’s raw and experimental—but that’s exactly what makes it worth watching.
