In the latest video from 8 Bit Doodads, they review three new Commodore 64C replacement cases from Individual Computers. The host stumbled upon these cases and decided to explore them, as information on these cases was limited. The cases are meant to replace the original C64C cases, and each one offers a unique design.

The first case, labeled “C64C,” features a classic design that resembles the original Commodore 64C. The tag “c64.de” suggests it might be a leftover from a previous project. The included user guide notes that “Commodore is back in Germany,” hinting at its origins. Individual Computers offers these cases in various colors, including beige, black, breadbin gray, SX-64 style (black and gray), and transparent.

The second case, in SX-64 style, combines a black top and gray bottom. It retains the same mold lines as the first case, which may indicate the use of original molds. The attention to detail impressed the reviewer, who noted the quality of the design.

The third case, labeled “transparent,” features a fully transparent design with an original-style badge. The reviewer expressed excitement about using this case for a personal project to build a brand-new Commodore 64 with modern parts.

Additionally, the video briefly covers a replacement case for the Amiga 1200, sourced from a different manufacturer, A1200.net. The Amiga case features a clear bottom and comes with various parts and badges, including a “Scoopex” badge. The reviewer explained that Scoopex is a team of demo scene creators who produce high-quality content for various platforms, aligning with their slogan, “Generations ahead.”

The video concludes with a promise of progress on the Commodore 128 project, which will be the focus of the next upload.
