“This infestation is spreading. We need to contain it before it reaches the town.”

COVER FEATURE: infeZtation
Run ‘n’ Gun arcade platformers are ten-a-penny on the Commodore 64, and for good reason—our beloved machine excels with impressive sprites, buttery smooth scrolling, and powerful sound and music. But the question remains: do we really need another platformer in the already vast catalogue of C64 games? When it comes to adding INFEZTATION to the mix, the answer is a resounding “YES!” We take a look at Monte Boyd’s futuristic run ‘n’ gun arcade adventure infeZtation, and put it through our infamous FREEZE-O-MATIC.

GAMES WE TYPED IN: ATTACK OF THE SOFTWARE PIRATES
Our beloved feature, The Games We Typed In, makes its triumphant return, spotlighting another fascinating type-in gem from yester-year. This edition celebrates the creative legacy of the late, great Tony Gibson, a much-loved programmer behind classics like Ghettoblaster, and Seaside Special.

FREE-LOADERS: MISSION MONDAY
During the Commodore 64 software drought of the Nineties, many gamers had moved on to bigger and ‘better’ gaming systems, leaving our poor, little beige breadbin to gather dust in the back of a cupboard somewhere… Fortunately, a clever team of diehard C64 enthusiasts continued to develop and supply us stragglers with new and impressive games in the form of Public Domain (PD) titles – i.e., FREE games! In this issue we celebrate Mission Monday by the C64 programming duo, Ash & Dave.

JULIAN RIGNALL’S CCRAPBACK!

SECRET SQUIRREL INVESTIGATES
Our cute fluffy agent delves into another batch of secret case files and reveals some real hidden gems, which includes: Beach Head 2, Dynamite Dux, and Robocop.

THE DEVELOPERS’ DEN: GARY ANTCLIFFE
For over four decades, Gary Antcliffe has been at the forefront of game development, working on acclaimed titles such as LittleBigPlanet, MediEvil Resurrection, and Bubba ‘n’ Stix, among others. We take a trip back to his early days and humble beginnings when he began creating games for the Commodore 64.

KARL HÖRNELL’S PHANTOM PIXELS
Veteran C64 game developer Karl Hörnell returns with an exciting glimpse into the past, unveiling a collection of rediscovered treasures from his personal archives. These long-lost artifacts, freshly recovered and never before shared.

WE DON’T DO REVIEWS!
The Commodore 64’s golfing crown has long been claimed by the legendary Leaderboard from Access Software – a true titan of the genre. Attempting to challenge its dominance with a traditional golfing game would be futile. Thankfully, Golf Dash Extended (GDE) charts its own course (pun intended). Unlike Leaderboard, it takes a refreshing approach, blending golfing mechanics with puzzle-like gameplay. We have a few rounds of GDE and find out exactly what the game has to offer.

OUT OF THE ‘MOULDY CUPBOARD’
Commodore’s very own cowboy simulator, Buffalo Roundup gets plucked from the Mouldy Cupboard and set upon by Vinny. Is it worthy of a place alongside his Commodore 64, or is it going straight back into the deep, dank Mouldy Cupboard? Only one way to find out!

DIARY OF A GAME – OPERATION VOSTOKA
It’s time for part 4 of Chris Stanley’s Operation Vostoka game development diary as he starts working on building and implementing the lift. It’s a fascinating insight into the modern-day development of a Commodore 64 game.

A beautifully printed A5 Commodore 64 fanzine delivered straight to your front door.
