Luigi Di Fraia has just released a beta version of the IECHost GUI Client with some new features. One of the new features mentioned in the video at the top of the article marks which sectors are allocated at the end of a disk dumping request. As explained in the video itself, access to such information can be used to speed up the archival of disks that present damages, but such damages are not affecting disk contents.
In the second video Luigi goes presents another new feature that advises users when disks are suspected to use more than the standard 35 tracks available on Commodore floppy disks.
The IECHost device is an IEC bus master that can control Commodore drives such as the 1541 and 1541-II, and possibly other Commodore devices interfaced via the IEC bus such as printers and plotters.
Binaries of the IECHost GUI client 3.2-rc1 are now available for testing on Lugi’s blog. Click here for to download them.
