Pimiga 5 Art Contest Opens

Chris Edwards Restoration is back with another community-driven challenge, and this one’s calling all digital artists and Amiga fans. The Pimiga 5 Art Contest is now live, and it’s time to sharpen those pixels. Whether you’re a retro art pro or a Photoshop hobbyist, Chris wants your best boot screens and backdrops for the upcoming Pimiga 5 release.

The Pimiga 5 Art Contest invites submissions from around the globe, with no borders when it comes to creativity—or shipping. Yes, even if you’re tuning in from “Bumphucked Egypt,” you’re eligible. Top winners will receive a Raspberry Pi 500 with Pimiga 5 preinstalled on a 128GB card. Secondary winners won’t be left behind—they’ll get Raspberry Pi 400s with the same setup, shipped directly to them.

Each participant may enter up to two original boot screens (8-bit, 1024×768 resolution) and two backdrops (32-bit, 1920×1080 resolution). If you’re unsure about incorporating the Pimiga logo, Chris has shared a sample here: Pimiga logo example.

Entries will be accepted until late October. Chris himself will select the grand prize winner, while the community will vote on the remaining winners during a livestream. That same livestream will showcase a sneak peek at Pimiga 5 beta, complete with AmigaLive integration, updated underlay systems, and other quirky enhancements—referred to, affectionately, as “doohickies.”

To enter, artists should email their work to Chris at macphreak4ever [at] gmail [dot] com. Don’t wait until the last minute—get those pixels dancing.
