A new piece of software has arrived for C64 OS users, and this time it’s not a game—it’s Presenter, a slide presentation application built specifically for the Commodore 64. Developed by Erik van der Tier and released under PIG Games, Presenter holds the distinction of being the first commercial third-party application designed for the C64 OS platform.
For those already running version 1.07 of C64 OS, there’s a free edition of Presenter ready to download from the C64 OS Software Releases page. It installs like any other app and works right out of the gate. If you’re planning to upgrade, Presenter will come pre-installed with version 1.08.
The full commercial version is available directly from PIG Games. This expanded edition includes extra features that go beyond the basics and is aimed at users who want more flexibility in their presentation setup.
Presenter isn’t just a proof of concept or an experiment—it’s fully functional software that’s already been used in the wild. It made its debut during a presentation at the World of Commodore event in 2024. That version was still in beta, but it did the job live, on stage, without missing a beat.
This isn’t about nostalgia. It’s about showing that the C64 is still being actively developed for—seriously, in 2025—by people who know the system inside and out and want to keep creating tools for it. Presenter shows just how practical and modern a Commodore 64 can still be in the right hands.
If you’re curious how a slide app works on an 8-bit machine from the 1980s—or just want to see what happens when old hardware meets fresh thinking—this is worth a look. The accompanying video gives a closer look at Presenter in action, and shows how it performed at a real-world event.
