In his latest video, Chris Edwards showcases the finished Purple Amiga 4000, blending vintage Amiga hardware with modern technology. The system hides a Raspberry Pi 5 running Windows 11 ARM alongside the classic components, offering both retro charm and modern capability.

Hidden Windows 11 Setup

Inside the custom case, a Raspberry Pi 5 runs Windows 11 ARM without official support. Chris tests several networking options, aiming for stable connectivity. After multiple failed Wi-Fi attempts, he finds success with the TP-Link UE330 USB 3.0 hub and gigabit Ethernet adapter. A temporary iPhone tether provides the drivers needed for a stable wired connection. With updates installed, the Windows environment runs smoothly.

Case Design and Accessibility

The build includes a hidden HDMI port and USB hub for easy access. This allows quick keyboard and mouse connections without dismantling the Amiga. Chris values this setup for safe shutdowns, preventing SD card corruption on the Pi.

RGB Aesthetics and Tribute

Visually, the Purple Amiga 4000 stands out. Mirrored infinity fans and RGB lighting fill the interior, while locking panels keep everything tidy. Although RGB is not Chris’s usual style, he felt it suited this tribute build. Purple, his favorite color, ties the project together. The build honors the Amiga 4000 and the many friends who contributed parts, advice, and support.

A Unique Retro Creation

The Purple Amiga 4000 combines creative design with technical problem-solving. It merges past and present, giving classic Amiga performance with hidden modern versatility. Chris’s video highlights both the challenges and rewards of creating this one-of-a-kind tribute system.
