In his latest video, Chris picks up the story with Part 2 of what has become an epic—and somewhat disastrous—repair journey. It all started back in November 2024 when a battered and beaten Amiga 3000D from the Netherlands arrived at his doorstep. Little did Chris know, this particular repair project would push him right to the edge.
As it turns out, something—likely a rodent—had urinated on the motherboard, causing hidden corrosion and extensive internal damage. What Chris thought would be another standard restoration quickly spiraled into a 65-hour marathon of frustration and unexpected challenges. With each passing hour, the damage revealed itself to be deeper and more insidious than initially anticipated.
And then things got personal. Unknown to Chris at the time, he contracted Leptospirosis, a serious bacterial infection from the rodent urine that contaminated the Amiga. Over the months, he started experiencing extreme fatigue and an unexplained rash. With symptoms worsening each month, it wasn’t until February 2025 that Chris finally received antibiotics to treat the infection.
So, if Chris looks a bit “washed ashore” in future videos, now you’ll know why. Despite the ordeal, he’s committed to seeing the Amiga 3000D brought back to life, and hopefully, viewers can at least share in the entertainment value of his battle.
