In Jan Beta’s latest video, he assembles a Commodore 64C using a relatively rare cost-reduced case, and future-proofs the system. He plans to convert one of the C64C boards he recently repaired into a fully functioning system to gift himself a Commodore 64 for Christmas. The board in question, a 250469 shortboard revision A, had a RAM fault, but was fixed in a previous video. Jan notes that although he owns many C64s, he doesn’t yet have a C64C with a shortboard and the newer keycaps featuring graphical symbols. He owns an early C64C with a longboard, but not the more recent revision. The last shortboard C64 he refurbished was for a friend, so he plans to build one for himself as a Christmas present.
