In this new episode from Triple Freedom, the team undertakes the restoration of a non-functional Commodore 64, methodically diagnosing and replacing faulty components. They begin by swapping out a defective PLA chip, marking functional replacements with white dots while using yellow for known faulty chips. Despite initial progress, testing reveals further issues with the U28 chip and the control port. After desoldering and replacing U28, however, the team discovered that this component wasn’t the actual source of the problem, prompting additional investigation into the true cause of the system’s malfunction.
