Pinov Vox has unveiled a first look at the Robotic-80 prototype demo, a new side-scrolling shooter created for the Commodore 64 using Sensible Software’s classic S.E.U.C.K. engine. The short work-in-progress video highlights the early stages of development, showing off fluid animation and a distinct visual flair that hint at the potential for a full release later on.
From the start, the Robotic-80 prototype demo displays a solid foundation. Pinov Vox, who handled both game design and animation graphics, demonstrates clear creative direction even at this unfinished stage. The project aims to channel the energy of classic C64 arcade shooters while experimenting with its own sense of pacing and visual rhythm.
Although the prototype currently lacks background music, composer Vg Vox is expected to join the project later. Once the audio layer is added, it will likely elevate the overall atmosphere and give the game that extra polish synonymous with Voxvideogame & Co’s other releases.
At this stage, Robotic-80 prototype demo remains unavailable for public download. Still, the preview has sparked interest across the C64 community, eager to see what the final version will bring.
The brief clip offers a promising glimpse into what could become another memorable addition to the Commodore 64’s ever-growing modern homebrew library. For those who enjoy watching creative projects evolve from prototype to full release, this early look provides plenty of reasons to stay tuned.
