In this episode of Chris Edwards Restoration, Chris tackles the replacement of a faulty power supply in the Amiga 3000UX. He installs a brand new SFX ATX PSU and a Tic board from Mr. Szymon Gosk, navigating through a multitude of wires, cuts, burns, and humorous cutscenes to maintain his sanity.
It is important to note that you can integrate a new plug and pins into the existing wires of an ATX power supply. However, since Chris had two non-functional units, he opted to remove their wires and solder them into the new PSU. For those interested in a turnkey unit, a kit, or a simple Tic board, Mr. Szymon Gosk can be contacted via the Amibay link provided below. His work is highly recommended. Links for the PSU pins and header/plug are also included.
