The Spite Sprite is a straightforward, DIY Amiga RGB to Composite/S-Video adapter, supporting both PAL and NTSC formats. It’s based on the AD724 reference schematic and uses the Amiga’s 5V power, producing Composite and S-Video outputs simultaneously. Configurations like FSC/4FSC can be set with solder jumpers, and a 25-pin D connector can be modified to fit Amiga’s 23-pin output. It’s a plug-and-play solution that delivers video immediately at power-on.

Key features include 50Hz video with NTSC color, enabling PAL programs to run on NTSC Amigas. For Composite output, the C2 capacitor can be adjusted to reduce color artifacts, though S-Video is unaffected by this. The Spite Sprite supports only standard TV scan rates, so it won’t convert VGA signals to TV frequencies.
