VideoClipper 2.6 Update Adds Faster Encoding and MPlayer 1.5 Support

291

The VideoClipper 2.6 Update brings new tools and performance improvements to one of AmigaOS4’s most useful video editors. It focuses on faster encoding, expanded subtitle support, and a smoother workflow for cutting and merging clips.

VideoClipper allows users to cut, join, and convert videos while applying visual effects. These include brightness, contrast, gamma, and sharpness adjustments, as well as slow or fast motion and rotation. Users can also add subtitles and audio tracks, giving full creative control over their video output.

Major Enhancements in Version 2.6

This release adds support for libx264 presets, helping speed up encoding without sacrificing quality. MPlayer version 1.5 is now supported, ensuring better preview accuracy and playback control. Subtitle fans will appreciate support for the .ass format, expanding compatibility with modern caption styles.

Precision is improved with a video position slider accurate to 0.1 seconds, ideal for frame-by-frame adjustments. The update also refines fade-in and fade-out timing to 0.1-second increments, making transitions smoother and more flexible.

New profile options simplify the setup of video and audio encoding settings, while expanded help documentation now includes a detailed usage walkthrough.

Smarter Workflow and Fixes

Version 2.6 introduces new “Save” options for faster project management and adds console tooltypes for customized window placement and size. Backward compatibility ensures that older project files still load correctly.

Bug fixes include corrections to the player warning messages, output file handling, and custom profile assignments.

Where to Get It

VideoClipper 2.6 Update and its dependencies, including ffmpeg and MPlayer, are available from Ktadd’s Software Page for AmigaOS4. This version delivers both speed and reliability for Amiga users editing video on classic hardware.
