In this update for the C64 OS, Gregorio Naçu previews an early build of the new Wikipedia client for C64 OS, which utilizes the upcoming C64 OS networking stack slated for release in version 1.07.
Currently, there are numerous bugs in the app, the networking stack, and the proxy servers, making this a true pre-beta version. The video ends with a system lock-up. Although I mention that the “networking stack” crashed, the actual issue was with the packet server, written in NodeJS and running on a MacBook beside my C64, which caused the application to hang. Ensuring graceful recovery from such situations is among the many issues still being addressed.
