Hey Birt! C64 Extreme Case Repair

1451

In this episode Jeff digs up a breadbin Commodore 64 that he got years ago. It had been smashed during shipment and previous repair attempts at that time were less than stellar.

A ‘C64 Case Saver’ kit was fitted to take care of all the normal areas that get damaged on a bread-bin and then the real work began. Cracks were sealed with acetone, hot wire stapes were added, and 3D printed gussets were epoxied into place to shore up weak sections.

Just when things were looking good disaster struck. With more work, more acetone and more hot staples he managed to save this beat-up old case. Follow along and see how it was done.
